Spontaneous Socials was created by Shannon Snow and Sue Bennet, the powerhouse duo that brought you Ashling Events and The Smitten Project. As experienced event planners and passionate community builders, they believe the best experiences happen offline, in real places, with real people. Their vision is to create a national movement of local experiences, highlighting the culture, flavors, and stories that make each city unique.

Spontaneous Socials is your exclusive pass to unforgettable, one-night-only events that bring people together in unexpected places. Each month, we curate unique local experiences—from hidden speakeasies and private dining pop-ups to historic landmarks and cultural gems. There are a limited number of spots for the opportunity to experience your city like never before.
Here’s how it works: Scan the QR code on your invitation to register with Spontaneous Socials and you will have the opportunity to purchase tickets. Event invites go out to members and new invitees 3 to 4 weeks before the event while the event details are announced no less than 48 hours in advance. Once you receive an invitation, you can purchase tickets and even invite others to join you – but once tickets sell out, that’s it. Each event is different, each location is handpicked, and every experience is designed to surprise and delight.
We don’t just book venues; we transform them. Expect exclusive menus, one-night-only entertainment, and access to spaces you wouldn’t normally get to explore. Whether it’s a rooftop cocktail hour in a hidden location, a chef’s tasting in a closed-door kitchen, or a live performance in a historic landmark, Spontaneous Socials is about experiencing your city in a way you never have before.

What is Spontaneous Socials?
Spontaneous Socials is your exclusive pass to one-night-only events in unexpected places. Each month, we curate a unique experience—whether it’s a hidden speakeasy, a rooftop cocktail hour, or a private dining pop-up. These events feature an element you can only get one time, such as a special menu or heavily customized experience. The offer a one-time opportunity to experience your city like never before.
Do I need to join to participate?
Members of our community get monthly invitations, emails and messages with event announcements and clues. They also get early access to tickets – with each clue ticket prices increase. In some instances, tickets may be made avilable to members of the public the week of the event. We encourage you to seek an invite (post on social or ask a friend) because only members are guarenteed to see all events.
How do I get invited?
Invitations are sent by referral or through our exclusive invite list. Once invited, you’ll receive an email with details on how to claim your spot and a printed invite – if your referrer provided your address. Events are limited and sell out quickly, so be sure to act fast!
Can I post on social media?
Yes! Just because we’re not on social doesn’t mean you can’t be! We love seeing your experiences shared. The only thing we ask is that if you’re involved in organizing the event, you keep the details secret until the location is announced.
Once the night is over, feel free to share your experience. We also have event photographers capturing the moment, and you’ll receive access to a post-event gallery to relive the night and share your favorite shots.

Do ticket prices include alcohol?
No, ticket prices do not include alcohol. This is for two key reasons:
- It keeps costs fair. Not everyone drinks, and including alcohol in the ticket price would raise costs for those who choose not to partake.
- Liquor laws vary by state. Since we host events in different locations, alcohol must be provided by a licensed venue or vendor in compliance with local laws. Not including alcohol in the ticket price ensures we remain compliant in all locations.
Some events may offer cash bars, drink specials, or curated beverage pairings available for purchase. You’ll always know what to expect in the event details before you arrive.
What if I’ve been invited before but didn’t attend?
We won’t keep following up, but you may receive a fresh invitation every six months if spots are available. Otherwise, you’ll need to be invited again by someone already attending. Remember, invitations do expire so act quickly to reserve your spot.
Can I bring a friend?
Absolutely! Once you reserve your spot, you’ll have the chance to invite a friend—but once tickets are gone, they’re gone.
When and where will I know the event details?
Event invitations go out three weeks in advance, but the exact location and details are revealed a minimum of 48 hours before the event. In some instances, we may reveal the event details early. We love the element of surprise!
What kind of events can I expect?
Each event is different, but you can expect exclusive access to unique venues, custom-curated experiences, and a fun, social atmosphere. Think private chef tastings, live performances in historic spaces, hidden cocktail bars, and more.

How do I know if an event is right for me?
Each Spontaneous Socials event is different, and we make it easy to decide if it’s your kind of night. Look at the clues in the invite. We provide a theme and describe the type of attendee the event is designed for. If it sounds like your scene, grab a spot! If not, no worries—just wait for the next one. Our events vary in style and interest, so there’s always something exciting on the horizon.
How much do events cost?
Ticket prices typically start at $50 and can go up to $200 or higher, depending on the experience. While we strive to keep costs accessible, each Spontaneous Social is a carefully curated, one-time-only event. Your ticket not only grants you access to a unique experience but also ensures that venues, vendors, and our team are paid fairly for the effort that goes into creating something truly special.
Can I invite someone from another community?
Yes! While each Spontaneous Social is locally focused, we’re building our invite list in cities across the U.S. If youare a member and know someone in another community who would love a one-time-only, curated social experience, invite them! We will be sure to include them on the invite list to their community’s launch event.
What is the refund policy?
We get it—plans change. That’s why we offer full refunds up to 7 days before the event. After that, all sales are final.
Because each Spontaneous Social is a carefully curated, one-time-only experience with limited spots, last-minute cancellations make it difficult for us to fill your seat. If you’re unsure about attending, we recommend waiting for a future event that fits your schedule. We do offer late registration, after the event is announced, if spots remain.

Can I register after the event announcement?
Yes! If spots remain after the event is announced, we offer late registration on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the location is revealed, any remaining tickets will be available until they sell out. Typically, ticket prices increase during late registration.
Since our events are one-time-only and space is limited, we recommend securing your spot early. But if you missed the initial invite, keep an eye out—there may still be a chance to join in!
